Duties of the COMM:
(As described in the Training Manual)
The COMM is primarily responsible for maintaining the EH Internet Relay Chat (IRC) Channels and
responding to Member's complaints and concerns. In addition, ANY Member having trouble trying to reach their immediate
commanding officer may contact the COMM for assistance. The COMM (or his/her designee) is responsible for attending both
the AOL and IRC meetings (as required) and keeping logs of the same. In addition, the COMM helps to moderate the Online
Conferences and introduce new members to the attendees. The COMM will report directly to the Fleet Commander who also will
retain a copy of all Chat Logs.
Duties of CA:COMM
(As outlined by FA Threat)
The Command Attache to the COMM is mainly responsible for two major things. One is the storage of IRC logs from the weekly EH meetings on IRC. As the COMM Office is required to keep the logs of the meetings, it is the CA:COMM's duty to find a safe storage place for these files, and keep them open for public Imperial use. The other main job of the CA:COMM is the HTML-ization of the monthly Emperor's Hammer Newsletter. Sometimes the whole NL is just too much for some people whose modems are out-of-date to download. That is why the CA:COMM takes the NL and HTML-izes it, making it accessible for all people, even those less fortunate folks with 14.4 and 9.6 modems. The CA:COMM is also granted ops in ##Emperor's_Hammer where it his their duty to uphold the IRC Code of Conduct as well as all other Emperor's Hammer bylaws.
Duties of the COMMA
(As designated by FA Threat and RA Motti)
The duties of the COMM Assistant are 2-fold, clear-cut, and easy to execute. The first duty of the COMMA is to assist the CA:COMM . Many times the CA:COMM cannot make it to the meetings, and if so, the COMMA is the one who logs the meeting for the COMM Office. The COMMA is also to assist the CA:COMM in HTML-izing the NL. The other main duty of the COMMA is to scour the EH Main Fleet Message Board and award Medals of Communication with Oak Clusters for those posting on the Message Board. The COMMA then emails the COMM, CA:COMM, OPS and CA:OPS with the list of awarded medals.
